Hola Familia, I just had an awesome week! The parasite has left and I'm now gaining weight again. I've gotta get back to 185 lbs.again ha ha. But a funny story about the parasite. We found a water eel when digging a hole for this famil, and we put it in a coke bottle with water. We wanted to show the elders that live in the house with us. So when they came back we said "look at this", and elder Carr said with a digusted look on his face "that is your parasite" haha. This river eel is about a foot long so, if that came out of me I would have been scared to death to get another parasite haha. But we worked hard this week and I am eating normal again. Yestarday I was back to normal again and I'm eating two plate loads of food. So we're good now. I started to really hate potatoes. I had white soup without any fats for a week and a half every lunch. But we had some amazing experiences this week and the Lord truly guided us to those who are being prepared for the gospel. We scheduled another baptismal date for hna Ninoska. She will be baptized the 20th of August and she went to church this week. She is awesome. It's sad though because she is 17 with twins. She came all the way to church this Sunday without her husband who is a member which was sad, but we talked with them and he will be going next week. Hna NInoska washes clothes and her hands burn from the detergent which is sad. So we went and bought her some rubber gloves and she seemed way happy to have them. Her husband is 19 and he works 6 days a week all day so that the kids can have clothes and can eat. They are going be an awesome family. Then we wanted to invite Hno Fransico to be baptized and he wasn't in his house two days in a row. So the second day we were walking from his house to go contacting and the next door neighbor yelled out Hermanos (brothers) which everyone here calls us. Even the members sometimes haha. So we went in and she wanted us to teach her. So after we taught her we came out and there was Francisco washing his motorcycle and we went in and taught him too. I invited him to be baptized and he said yes. It was awesome. The spirit was so strong. He will be scheduled for the 20th too if things go smoothly. Then we taught Hno Eddy and he is 12 and didnt get baptized with his older sister because he still didn't get an answer to his prayers. But we came to his house to invite him again and there was a dang outdoor church right next to his house with powerfull speakers singing "hallelujah, halleljuah praise the Lord amen" a bunch of times and they had this music that was all electonic and was so weird. It was hard to hear but the spirit was strong and overpowering all the music. At first I asked him if he knew the book of mormon is true and he said "yes without a doubt" Then I asked if he knew Joseph Smith was a prophet and he said "yes" without hesitating. Then I said, would you be willing to follow the example of your Savior Jesus Christ and be baptized by someone who has the power and authority of God? He said "yes" again. It was awesome. But the funny part was that my comp didnt hear, and he said, "I didn't hear what my companion said but I trust him and know everything he said is true." and then he invited Eddy to be baptized again and he accepted again. It was awesome. We had a lot of good experiences the Lord truly helps you when you"re obedient and put your trust in Him. We worked hard and saw the Lord do miracles in our hands. I love you guys so much. Thanks for all of your prayers to help me get better. All is well here in Bolivia and we"re working hard! Love Elder Christoffersen PS. We had two days of cold here and it was heaven, but its now hot again ha ha.
