November 14, 2011

Hola familia , This week ended really well. I was happy that we had the two people with baptismal dates go to church yesterday. Their names are Sarela and Erika. They're are both single moms. The daughter has two kids, a two year old and also a baby. They're both very humble people and have a lot of faith in God. I feel really bad for them because they are going through a lot of trials right now, and I hope that God can truly help them solve these problems. They're having a hard time accessing water and the mom was crying about it. I felt so bad . But we taught them and testified to them that if they are truly obedient and show their faith in our Heavenly Father, He will solve everything for us and carry us in His hands. We always have to get through the trial of our faith before God blesses us. He only blesses those who show that they love Him enough to keep his commandments even if they don't recieve instant blessings. That's how He has always blessed us with those blessings that mean the most to us. But they seem like they enjoyed church a lot and seemed to fit in really good. O.K. a way funny story. So my comp and two other missionaries were waiting to take motorcycles to come to internet today and three motorcycles got to us. The other two Elders got on and I got on mine too and thought my comps motorcycle got there. So I was ready to go and I said "oh, wait." I got off to wait for my comp, and my motorcylce guy left following behind the other two motorcycles like I was still on it!  It was hilarious! He still though that I was on there with him. So two more motorcyles arrived and we left. Me and my comp said it would be way funny if that guy is still following the other motorcycles. We ended up passing one of the elders and sure enough the other motorcycle was following right behind, and me and my comp were laughing way hard. We finally got to the internet place and we said this will be crazy if the guy comes all the way here and he shows up with no one. Me and elder Sangay ran into the internet laughing our heads off. We were pretty confused how he couldn't tell that a 180  pound person isn't riding on his motorcycle still, haha. But we are doing awesome here as a companionship. We're really good friends and we work with a lot of unity. It's fantastic. But the sad thing is that this Wednesday is transfers and I'm pretty sure we will be seperated because now one district has more then 3 cambios together. I realized the way to be good companions is just to let all the stupid things they do go because we all do a lot of stupid stuff too. So there isn't any reason to get mad. It's definitely not worth the fight when you can be happier. The biggest reason that it's not worth it is because it will effect the way you teach as a companionship. I'm happy because things are going well right now and we are going to a place called aqiles after internet that is a place where you can go in the jungle where they made a soccer field, volley ball courts, and a place to eat. It will be pretty awesome. But the mission is going good. My Spanish is getting a lot better, and the spirit is burning like a fire. I love the inspiring sensation when it feels like the spirit is speaking through you. It's truly the work of the Lord and it will always continue forward to every tribe, nation, and people. Have an awesome week!  Elder Christoffersen
