October 17, 2011

Hola familia, Things were pretty dang good this week! We worked hard and the Lord blessed us. Well first off, something crazy is that we do transfers some days to work with other missionaries in the district to see how they are doing. The last two I did were both crazy days. I worked with an Elder Mamani from Argentina and we worked hard. We contacted and taught a ton and we found a family of seven people that they had been working with, and they are all going to get baptized this week. Then also this week I went out with Elder Tapia from the Dominican Republic and we scheduled two people with baptismal dates and found some good people who could also be willing to progress to be baptized. It's crazy how the day transfers have been an awesome experience so far. But what was cool too is that Elder Sangay and the other missionary that worked the day in my area scheduled a date with Virginia's husband. That made me so happy to hear that. Now the whole family will have been baptized by the end of this month. So much work, praying, and fasting payed off. I truly hope the Lord will support us and provide the way so he will be baptized for sure. His son will be baptized this week because he will be going out to the jungle to work the next week. But Fernando seems like he is for sure ready to be baptized and that he is also excited that his father will be baptized too. I gave the kids and the mom a CTR ring that mom sent me and they wear them every day. They think they're awesome. They really like the rings and the other members are shocked and want one too, haha. But this family is so awesome! They are becoming awesome friends and we have their trust and they have ours. We have been blessed to teach them for almost 3 months and we may get to for 4 1/2 maybe even more. Things are going great with me and my companion. We are good friends and we're working hard praying together and growing stronger everyday. This first week as district leader was pretty good. It's a little different directing a district meeting, but I felt it went good. Everyone participated and we're all set on working hard. We know it willl lead to success if we're obedient and have faith too. But when I got what we accomplished in contact's, lessons, and new investigators, it was crazy. We're truly working hard in this district. It seems like its going to be a good time this transfer. Things still look good with the familia Medina Cueller. The husband still needs to change a bit to be baptized. It seems like we will finally be able to teach them again today. They went out to their ranch this week for vacations. But something that made me feel way good, is that we were teaching the adopted son of Ninoska who was baptized in Augost and he will be baptized the 5th of next month. The mom told me he will for sure go to church and she wants me to baptize him. It was awesome hearing that. She and her husband are way good friends. They always ask before we do when we will be able to come back to teach again. She is a true convert and when her husband who is a member doesn't go to church she goes without him. Well I hope everything continues to go good with them, and I'm excited to keep helping them make good decisions in their lives. We will continue to work hard and the blessings will always come. It's crazy to see the little time we have dedicated to serving the Lord with everything He has done for us. So we can see that we serve Him with all our might, mind, heart, and soul because we have such little time to give to Him. Well I love you guys a ton. Be smart and work hard. Help someone to know what will bring so many blessings to them in their lives.       Love, Elder Christoffersen
