November 7, 2011

Hola familia. This was a pretty good week. We worked really hard. We found a lot of good investigators and helped a lot of less actives too. Sunday was rough because it rained and when it rains here half of the members don't go to church. The same with the investigators. But I'm sure this week will be loads better if it doesn't rain ha ha. So wish us luck. But it's sad when you teach someone who is almost 18 and they can't be baptized without the permision of their parents. I guess the Lord has his hand in that and will provide the way for them. The other downer is that Gladys went out to a party with her family and ended up drinking. Then she didn't go to church, so I have no clue what will happen with them until tonight when we go to visit. It's hard for her because her husband isn't supporting her in this and her family isn't very supportive either. But you just have to move on and work hard. There are a lot of awesome people who we taught this week and a less active came to church with her 13 year old daughter. Also a single mom came to church with her two little kids. So I hope we can continue to teach them and help them make a covenant with God. But the less active left church and started to go to a Catholic church, and when we teach her we keep reminding her how she knows this is the true church and it can bless her and her daughters more. She came even though it rained. She even has an older sister who wanted to come but couldn't, so this week we will see. The single mom has a single mom too and she was gonna come, but she didn't. I think she got a little bit scared because the mom has been Catholic all of her life. So it will be a big change. But the good thing is that they are very humble. So they are being prepared for this work. Things are going good in the mish. I am way focused and working hard. I know the hard work will always be worth it even if I don't get the immediate satisfaction or blessings. You truly reap what you sow if it be in this life or the next. We for sure will be blessed. So that helps me to work hard because nothing is ever in vain, and we never know how much we bless the lives of others when we help them out or teach them the gospel. I went to the house of the family we got to help baptize. Almost all of them were way happy and smiling. They were happy to see us, and it made me way happy. I can see how the gospel can bless a family so much. I feel very good about them staying strong in the gospel. They will be awesome members. That's truly a blessing from a mission. Being able to see how much the gospel truly has helped someone and to see a different appearence in them as well. Well thanks for being such awesome support to me. Until next week.   Love, Elder Christoffersen
